January 28, 2003 - Devrace Software Company publishes a new build of Devrace™ FIBPlus™, a fast, flexible and high-performance component library for Borland® Delphi™, Borland® C++ Builder and Borland® Kylix, which is intended for work with all Borland® InterBase® and Firebird versions. The new FIBPlus version supports new features of Borland® InterBase 7.0 and Borland® Kylix 3.

Except of InterBase 7.0 and Kylix 3 support, this FIBPlus version includes a new capability for work with a local filter and special mechanism decreasing net-traffic in multiuser environment and on low-speed channels, and a number of bug fixes.

Devrace FIBPlus 4.8 new features and benefits:

  • InterBase 7.0 support - FIBPlus 4.8 fully supports new features of Borland InterBase 7.0: a new 68-bytes format of metadata object names, new nethods (ClientVersion, ClientMajorVersion and ClientMinorVersion), new BOOLEAN data type.
  • Kylix 3 support - FIBPlus 4.8 is compatible with Kylix 3. Now it is possible to create InterBase/Firebird applications for Linux.
  • New methods and properties - Improved SQL Generator, improved batch input/output mechanism in TFIBQuery, improved memory searching (changes in the ExtLocate method), improved local filtering methods and options, etc.
