Devrace acquires Metadataforge company (SQLHammer project)

Devrace has recently acquired Metadataforge company (SQLHammer project) and will immediately start selling the product.

The CEO of Devrace Serg Vostrikov, says: “We are very happy to have signed the contract with Dmitry Kovalenko, the author of SQLHammer. SQL Hammer is a simple, fast and elegant IDE for database development and invaluable tool for real administrators. When developing SQLHammer Dmitry was concentrated on improving the performance of access to databases, and so far judging by recent tests these attempts are very successful. I am sure soon we will prove to InterBase/Firebird database developers that SQLHammer is worth buying!”

Sophisticated internal SQLHammer architecture is based on plug-in modules which extend IDE functionality. For example, centralized SQL Editor is used in most database objects and editors, whereas it is physically present only in a single module. Such module architecture provides developers with additional advantages:

• saving of computer resources
• an ability to use only necessary functions and deactivate the rest of tools
• full support of all Borland InterBase/Firebird versions due to use of different access means for each server
• better support of client development tools, in particular: SQLMonitor for FIBPlus and SQLMonitor for IBX
• more convenient updates: developers get an update of a certain module/the product core instead of the full package

We are planning to start a campaign to support developers of additional SQLHammer modules. All of them will have access to technical SQLHammer API documentation and get our technical consultancy service. Even basic SQLHammer functions are realized on the API level available for third-party developers, so SQLHammer IDE can be widely extended due to additional modules.
