Question: What’s the difference between FIBPlus free trial version and its commercial analogue?
Answer: The trial differs in the following things:
1) FIBPlus trial version lacks four main
files with sources: FIBDatabase.pas, FIBDataSet.pas, FIBQuery.pas and
FIBSQLMonitor.pas. We usually include quick fixes into these modules.
So the advantage of having these files is that you can quickly insert
these changes, recompile the updated version and use it on your project
without waiting for the newest official build.
2) FIBPlus trial version lacks pFIBPlusTools expert sources.
3) If the IDE is not started, the trial will show the nag screen. So e.g your cgi program written on FIBPlus won’t work.
4) Using FIBPlus trial version you won’t be able to change the client library from gds32.dll to fbclient.dll. You will be able to use gds32.dll only.

FIBPlus has taken the headache out of this project. When I got the current contract, FIBPlus was included on the work computer from the client. I quickly found it easier to use and more powerful than any other Firebird component suite I had tested. When I ran into a problem setting up a persistent calculated field, the tech support people saved the day. I would also add that I tested Zeos, IBX, DBGo, UIB, and other FBconnectors. FIBPlus outperformed all of them, and FIBPlus was run on an older machine than the others were. That was most impressive.
